Independent evaluation of HEFCE published

Oakleigh's report to an independent review group examining the efficiency and effectiveness of HEFCE was published on 8th March 2010.

Led by Andy Shenstone, Oakleigh's Director of education services, the review was a comprehensive analysis of the funding council's performance over the last five years.

Andy remarks:

"The report provides a detailed insight into the work of the Council and its performance. Overall it is clear HEFCE is efficient and provides good value to the tax payer. However the funding council, in common with the wider HE sector, faces a very challenging period. The report assesses these challenges and HEFCE's readiness and capacity to address them."

In completing the review Oakleigh engaged with stakeholders from across government and the HE sector. Consultation took place with over 200 representatives from 47 higher education providers and 30 other organisations.
