Oakleigh selected to produce guidance on senior appointments in Higher Education
Universities UK, Committee of University Chairs and GuildHE have appointed Oakleigh to update present management guidance on the appointment of senior managers in HE.
The project is to take place between January and March 2009 with the final outputs being issued in June for sector-wide dissemination in the autumn.
Andy Shenstone, Oakleigh’s Director of Education services, who will lead the study, noted:
“The UK’s higher education system is universally recognised as being world class. To sustain this position requires institutions to find leaders and senior managers able to carry on the work of their predecessors in an increasingly competitive environment. Ensuring institutions draw upon the full breadth of the talent pool is a key objective in updating this guidance, as well as sharing and promulgating the many examples of effective practice from across the sector.”
The new guidance will be both comprehensive in its scope and content and draw upon the insights from recent studies into appointments processes of the sector.
