Oakleigh commissioned to evaluate Beacons for Public Engagement programme
Oakleigh has been commissioned to carry out the evaluation of the exciting new Beacons for Public Engagement programme. The aim of the initiative is to encourage and promote public engagement across the whole of the Higher Education sector. The programme is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and Research Councils UK (RCUK) in association with the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, the Scottish Funding Council and the Wellcome Trust.
Oakleigh’s job will be to evaluate the work of the Beacons for Public Engagement, the National Coordinating Centre and of the initiative as a whole. The programme runs for four years and we will be producing a baseline report in 2008 and an evaluation report in 2010. The outputs from the programme will help inform the development of public engagement across the sector.
